Adam Rapp's "Red Light Winter" at Hub 14 last night was one of the most powerfully moving things I've seen on stage in years. Three hugely accomplished performers working together in a way that only happens when actors have profound respect for each other and for their own craft; this quality of work arises out of a burning need to be as good as you possibly can. The craftsmanship here was as nearly flawless as I've ever seen. Jeremy Ferdman turned in a magnetic virtuoso performance as Davis, a self-centered, somewhat disreputable party-boy friend whom you kind of like until you suddenly sickeningly realize just HOW self-centered he is.
